UPSC Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Prosecutor
The Prosecutor post requires either:
- A graduate degree in any subject, a bachelor’s degree in law and one year of relevant government experience, or
- A five-year integrated law degree and two years of relevant government experience
The experience should relate to litigation, court matters or administration of law in a government organization. An LLM and additional experience in corporate or criminal law are desirable but not compulsory.

Eligibility for Other Technical and Legal Posts
The Deputy Assistant Director, Entomologist, Junior Scientific Officer and Superintendent posts require qualifications related to their fields.

UPSC Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The maximum age depends on the post and category.
For many Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor posts, the age limit is:
