Indian Navy SSC Officer Vacancy 2026

The Indian Navy has announced 275 tentative vacancies for the June 2027 course. These vacancies may change depending on training slots and service requirements.

Educational Qualification

1

The qualification depends on the branch you choose. Most technical and executive posts require BE or B.Tech with minimum 60 percent marks. Some branches also accept qualifications like MBA, MCA, M.Sc, MA, ME or M.Tech depending on the entry.

2

For example, Executive Branch GS(X) requires BE or B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60 percent marks. Pilot, NAOO, NAIC and Education entries also have extra conditions related to Class 10, Class 12 and English marks.

3

Candidates in the final year can also apply, but they must complete the required qualification before joining INA Ezhimala. SSB recommended candidates must inform their final degree result to the Indian Navy before 20 June 2027.

Age Limit

The age limit is different for each branch. For many entries, the required date of birth range is between 02 July 2002 and 01 January 2008. Some posts like Pilot and Naval Air Operations Officer have a different range, such as 02 July 2003 to 01 July 2008. ATC and Education entries also have their own age conditions.

So before applying, candidates should check the branch-wise age limit carefully. Do not apply for a branch only by looking at the total vacancy. First check your qualification, age, gender eligibility, and medical standards.

Selection Process

1

The Indian Navy SSC Officer June 2027 selection process does not mainly depend on a normal written exam. Candidates are shortlisted based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree. After shortlisting, candidates are called for the SSB interview.

2

The selection process includes shortlisting of applications based on marks, SSB interview, medical examination, final merit list, and appointment as per vacancies and medical fitness.

3

For BE and B.Tech candidates, marks up to the fifth semester will be considered for SSB shortlisting if they are in the final year. For postgraduate courses like M.Sc, MCA, MBA and M.Tech, marks of all semesters or pre-final year performance may be considered depending on completion status.

Salary and Commission Period

  • Selected candidates will be inducted as Sub Lieutenant after clearing the required medical examination at INA Ezhimala. The initial gross salary of a Sub Lieutenant starts from around Rs 1,20,000 per month, along with applicable allowances.
  • The Short Service Commission is initially for 12 years and may be extended by a maximum of 2 years, depending on service requirement, performance, medical eligibility, and willingness of the candidate.

Documents Required Before Applying

  • Keep your documents ready before filling out the online form. This helps avoid mistakes and saves time.
  • Important documents may include Class 10 certificate for date of birth proof, Class 12 certificate and marksheet, degree marksheets, BE or B.Tech semester marksheets, CGPA conversion formula if applicable, recent passport size colour photograph, NCC C certificate if applicable, Merchant Navy certificate if applicable, valid email ID and mobile number.

How to Apply for Indian Navy SSC Officer June 2027 Recruitment

  • Candidates need to apply online through the Indian Navy recruitment portal.
  • First, visit the official Indian Navy recruitment website. Register yourself with correct personal details. Tips Before Filling the Online Form

1

Do not fill the form in a hurry. Read the branch eligibility first, then decide your preference. Many candidates make mistakes by selecting a branch without checking age, stream, percentage, or medical conditions.

2

Use the same name and date of birth as written in your matriculation certificate. Keep your email and mobile number active because SSB interview updates may be sent through email or SMS. Also check your spam folder regularly after applying.

3

If you have NCC C certificate, upload it only if it meets the required conditions. NCC candidates may get relaxation in cutoff marks for SSB shortlisting, subject to the rules mentioned in the notification.

Who Should Apply?

1

This recruitment is suitable for candidates who want a disciplined, respected, and challenging career in the Indian Navy. It is a good option for engineering graduates, postgraduate candidates, MBA, MCA, M.Sc, MA and eligible final-year students.

2

You should apply if you meet the age limit, have the required marks, are unmarried, physically fit, and ready for officer training at INA Ezhimala. If you are not sure about your branch, compare your degree stream with the official eligibility table before applying.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Many candidates lose their chance because of small errors. Avoid uploading blurred documents, wrong marks, incorrect date of birth, inactive email ID, or selecting branches without checking eligibility.

Also, do not submit multiple applications. Multiple applications for the same course may lead to cancellation of candidature.
