Indian Air Force Medical Assistant Airmen Intake 02/2027

The Indian Air Force has invited online applications for Airmen Intake 02/2027 in the Group ‘Y’ Non-Technical Medical Assistant trade. This recruitment is open to eligible male Indian citizens and Gorkhas who are subjects of Nepal.Online registration started on 6 July 2026 and will close on 26 July 2026 at 11:00 PM. The Phase-I online examination is scheduled for 22 and 23 September 2026. Candidates can apply through the official CASB recruitment portal.

This is not an Agniveervayu, pilot or commissioned officer recruitment. Selected candidates will join the Indian Air Force as regular Airmen in the Medical Assistant trade.

The advertisement does not announce a fixed number of vacancies. Final enrolment will depend on merit, medical fitness, available vacancies and fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.

The Phase-I admit card will be sent to the candidate’s registered email address and will also be available through the candidate login.

The recruitment is open to:

• Male Gorkha candidates who are subjects of Nepal
• Candidates from all Indian states and Union Territories
• Eligible 10+2 and pharmacy-qualified candidates

Female candidates are not eligible under this particular Airmen Intake 02/2027 advertisement. Candidates should also check the marital status and date-of-birth rules for their qualification before applying.

The date-of-birth requirement is different for 10+2 candidates and pharmacy-qualified candidates.

For 10+2 Candidates

The candidate must:

• Be unmarried
• Have been born between 1 July 2006 and 1 July 2010
• Meet both dates inclusively

The candidate must not be more than 21 years old on the date of enrolment.

For Diploma, B.Pharm or B.Sc Pharmacy Candidates

An unmarried candidate must have been born between:

1 July 2003 and 1 July 2008

A married candidate must have been born between:

1 July 2003 and 1 July 2006

Pharmacy-qualified candidates must not be more than 24 years old on the date of enrolment.

Candidates can apply through the 10+2 route, vocational-course route or pharmacy qualification route.

Medical Assistant Eligibility for 10+2 Candidates

The candidate must have passed 10+2, Intermediate or an equivalent examination with:

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• English

The candidate must have at least:

• 50% marks in aggregate
• 50% marks in English

The education board must be recognised by the Central Government, a state government or a Union Territory.

Eligibility Through a Vocational Course

Candidates who have completed a two-year vocational course may also apply if Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English were studied as non-vocational subjects.

They must have:

• At least 50% marks in aggregate
• At least 50% marks in English

Eligibility for Pharmacy Candidates

Candidates with a Diploma in Pharmacy, B.Pharm or B.Sc in Pharmacy must first have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

They must have:

• 50% marks in 10+2 aggregate
• 50% marks in English
• 50% aggregate marks in Diploma, B.Pharm or B.Sc Pharmacy
• Valid registration with a State Pharmacy Council or the Pharmacy Council of India at the time of enrolment

Marks will not be rounded up. For example, 49.99% will not be treated as 50%. Candidates should calculate their percentage carefully before submitting the form.

Every applicant must pay a non-refundable examination fee of:

₹550 plus 18% GST

The selection process is completed in three main phases.

Phase I: Online Examination

Eligible candidates will first appear in the online objective test.

Phase II: Physical and Adaptability Tests

Candidates shortlisted after the online examination will be called to an Airmen Selection Centre for:

1. Document verification
2. Physical Fitness Test
3. Adaptability Test-I
4. Adaptability Test-II

Phase III: Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-II will undergo a detailed medical examination conducted by an Indian Air Force medical team.

Passing one stage does not guarantee final selection. Candidates must qualify every required stage and meet the final merit, medical and vacancy conditions.

The Phase-I examination will be an objective online test.

A good strategy is to practise timed questions every day because the full paper must be completed in only 45 minutes.

Candidates shortlisted after Phase I will appear in the Physical Fitness Test.

PFT-I: 1.6-Kilometre Run

PFT-II Exercises

Candidates who qualify the run will receive 10 minutes of rest before starting PFT-II.

They must complete:

There will be a two-minute break after push-ups and another two-minute break after sit-ups. Candidates should take proper sports shoes and shorts or track pants for the test.

Quick Physical Preparation Tip

Do not begin practising the run only a few days before Phase II. Start with regular jogging, short sprints, push-ups, squats and core exercises. Increase your speed slowly to avoid injury.

Adaptability Test-I

This is an objective written test. It checks whether the candidate is suitable for employment in the Indian Air Force, including work in different weather, geographic and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test-II

Candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I will appear in Adaptability Test-II. It checks whether they can adjust to the Indian Air Force environment and military way of life.

Candidates must meet the medical standards set by the Indian Air Force.

Candidates with a history of LASIK or PRK eye surgery will not be accepted. The final decision about medical fitness will be made by the Indian Air Force Medical Board.

The medical examination may include blood tests, urine tests, blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney and liver function tests, chest X-ray and ECG. The medical team may also request other tests when required.

Permanent tattoos are generally not permitted. Limited exceptions may be considered for tattoos:

• On the inner side of the forearm
• On the back of the hand
• Connected with recognised tribal customs and traditions

Offensive, obscene, sexist or racist tattoos are not accepted. The final decision about whether a tattoo is acceptable rests with the selection authority.

A Medical Assistant in the Indian Air Force supports healthcare services at Air Force hospitals, medical units, dispensaries and other establishments.

Selected candidates may be trained to perform duties related to:

• Nursing assistance
• First aid
• Patient care
• Ward supervision
• Dispensary management
• Management of medical stores
• Maintenance of medical supplies and records
• Other duties assigned by senior authorities

The role requires discipline, physical fitness, attention to detail and the ability to work in different locations and conditions.

During training, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of:

₹14,600

After completing training, the starting gross monthly emoluments at the minimum pay scale, including Military Service Pay, will be:

₹26,900 plus applicable Dearness Allowance

Eligible Airmen may also receive allowances such as:

• Transport Allowance
• House Rent Allowance
• Leave Ration Allowance
• Children Education Allowance
• Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance

Other benefits may include ration, clothing, accommodation, medical facilities, CSD facilities, recreational facilities, Leave Travel Concession and school transport for children, subject to the applicable rules.

The notification also mentions group insurance cover of ₹62.5 lakh against a monthly premium of ₹3,200.

Selected candidates will first attend Joint Basic Phase Training at a designated training institute. After completing basic training, they will receive trade-specific and security training.

The initial enrolment period is 20 years, subject to service conditions. It may be extended up to the age of 57, depending on the applicable rules and service requirements.

Candidates are not allowed to stay with their families during training. Unmarried candidates are also not permitted to marry before completing their initial training.

Candidates should prepare the following before starting the form:

The uploaded photograph must be recent and between 100 KB and 200 KB in JPG or JPEG format. The candidate must hold a black slate showing his name and the date on which the photograph was taken.

The signature must be between 80 KB and 150 KB, while the left thumb impression must be between 50 KB and 100 KB. A live photograph will also be captured during registration.

Shortlisted candidates should carry the required originals and photocopies, including:

• Colour printout of Phase-II admit card

• Original Class 12 certificate and marksheet
• Pharmacy qualification documents, where applicable
• Four self-attested copies of the required academic documents
• Eight passport-size photographs used during registration

DigiLocker-verified certificates may be accepted, but ordinary internet copies, screenshots or unclear mobile photographs of marksheets are not accepted.

Follow these steps to complete the form:

2. Open the Airmen Intake 02/2027 Medical Assistant application link.
3. Register using a valid email address and mobile number.
4. Verify the separate OTPs sent to your email and phone.
5. Log in with the user ID and password provided after registration.
6. Enter your personal, communication and educational details.
7. Upload the photograph, signature, thumb impression and other required files.
8. Use the preview option to check every detail carefully.
9. Submit the application and pay ₹550 plus 18% GST.
10. Download and print the completed application form.

The email address and mobile number should remain active throughout the recruitment process because important messages, passwords, admit cards and updates will be sent through them.

Check your name, father’s name and date of birth against your Class 10 certificate before submitting the form. Even a small mismatch can cause problems during document verification.

Do not submit more than one application. Multiple applications with different registration numbers may lead to rejection.

Use your own email address and mobile number, and keep the login password safe until the recruitment process is complete.

Upload clear documents in the correct size and format. Do not use an old photograph or a photograph that looks different from your present appearance.

Keep a printed and digital copy of the submitted form and payment receipt.

Candidates should regularly check the official CASB portal because corrections, schedule changes and other updates may be published only there.

The Provisional Select List is expected in the last week of May 2027. A separate list will be prepared for candidates holding a Diploma, B.Pharm or B.Sc in Pharmacy.

Being included in the Provisional Select List does not guarantee enrolment. Final selection will depend on:
