Candidates with a Petroleum Engineering degree can be considered for all nine Petroleum vacancies. Applicants with Applied Petroleum Engineering qualifications will be considered for seven of those vacancies.
Educational Qualification
You must have at least 60% marks in the required degree. ONGC has clearly listed the accepted qualifications for each stream.
Petroleum Engineering
Candidates must have one of the following:
- Graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering with at least 60% marks
- Graduate degree in Applied Petroleum Engineering with at least 60% marks
Mechanical Engineering
A graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks is required.
Chemical Engineering
Applicants need a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 60% marks.
A degree in Chemical Sciences and Technology will not be accepted for this stream.
Instrumentation Engineering

Geology

Recognised distance-learning and part-time qualifications are allowed, but equivalent qualifications that are not listed in the notice may not be accepted. ONGC Geologist and Engineer Salary
Selected Graduate Trainees will be appointed at the E1 level. The basic pay scale is:

Selection Process
The ONGC Graduate Trainee selection process has three main stages:
- Computer-Based Test
- Personal interview
- Medical fitness examination
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a ratio of around 1:5 based on their CBT scores. ONGC may also conduct a group discussion, but it will not carry qualifying marks.
