State Bank of India has opened online applications for SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17.

One thing candidates often miss is that you can apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory under this recruitment project. Choose carefully before submitting the form.

Candidates need a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

The qualification is considered as of 31 December 2026.

SBI will select Junior Associates through three main stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and the Local Language Proficiency Test where applicable. There is no interview mentioned in the official selection procedure.

A useful point to remember is that Prelims marks are not added to the final merit list. Prelims is mainly used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Final merit is prepared using Main Examination performance, subject to eligibility and the local-language requirement.

There is a one-fourth negative mark for every incorrect answer.

SBI has not prescribed minimum qualifying marks for individual Prelims sections or the overall Prelims score. Candidates are shortlisted for Mains based on their aggregate marks and available vacancies.

The Main Examination also carries a one-fourth penalty for wrong answers.

Unlike Prelims, candidates must obtain the minimum aggregate marks decided by SBI in the Main Examination.

Language knowledge is an important part of the SBI Junior Associate recruitment process.

Candidates are expected to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the specified local language of the State or UT they choose.

If your Class 10 or Class 12 certificate shows that you studied the selected local language, you generally do not have to appear for the separate language test.

Other provisionally selected candidates must clear the Local Language Proficiency Test before joining. Failure to qualify means the appointment will not be offered.

Tip: Do not select a State only because it has more vacancies. Check its required local language first before applying for SBI Junior Associate.

The SBI Junior Associate pay scale starts at ₹24,050, with two advance increments available to graduates.

This gives a newly recruited graduate Junior Associate a starting basic pay of ₹26,730.

According to SBI, total starting emoluments at a metro location such as Mumbai are around ₹46,000 per month, including DA and applicable allowances. The actual amount can change depending on the posting location and allowances.

Employees may also receive eligible benefits relating to provident fund, pension, medical facilities, leave fare, and other facilities under SBI rules.

New Junior Associates will normally remain on probation for at least six months.

During this period, recruits need to complete the e-learning requirements prescribed by SBI. Performance may also be reviewed before confirmation.

Before selecting your State, think about where you are comfortable working.

SBI states that newly recruited Junior Associates do not have a normal provision for inter-circle or inter-state transfer before completing five years of service. Exceptional cases may be considered later according to the Bank’s policy.
