JKSSB Draftsman & Works Supervisor Recruitment 2026

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has released the JKSSB Draftsman & Works Supervisor Recruitment 2026 notification. A total of 357 vacancies are available in the Public Works (R&B) Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government.The recruitment includes 97 Draftsman (Civil) posts and 260 Works Supervisor posts. Eligible candidates will be able to submit their applications online from 1 August 2026 to 30 August 2026. Only candidates holding a valid domicile certificate of Jammu and Kashmir can apply.

Draftsman Civil Qualification

Applicants for the Draftsman (Civil) post must have completed a:

Two-year Draftsman Training Course Certificate or Diploma from a government-recognised institute.

Candidates with a different qualification should not assume that it will automatically be accepted. Anyone claiming an equivalent qualification may be asked to submit a valid equivalence certificate.

Works Supervisor Qualification

Applicants for the Works Supervisor post must have:

• Passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination from a recognised institution or university.
• An ITI certificate in Building Construction or Carpentry Trade.

The ITI certificate must have been awarded by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Technical Education or the Director General of Training, Government of India.

Helpful Tip

Do not apply only because you have passed Class 10. For the Works Supervisor post, the required ITI trade is also compulsory.

Candidates must not have been born after 1 January 2008. Ex-servicemen can claim age relaxation according to the applicable Jammu and Kashmir government rules.

Only candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are eligible to apply.

Applicants must possess a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority on or before the closing date of the application, which is currently 30 August 2026.

Make sure your domicile and category certificates are valid before submitting the application. An expired or incorrect certificate may lead to rejection during document verification.

Draftsman Civil Salary

The Draftsman (Civil) post comes under Pay Level 4, with a pay range of:

₹25,500 to ₹81,100

Works Supervisor Salary

The Works Supervisor post comes under SL-2, with a pay range of:

₹15,900 to ₹50,400

The final monthly amount may include applicable allowances and deductions under Jammu and Kashmir government rules.

Selection Process

The JKSSB Draftsman and Works Supervisor selection process will include:

1. Written or OMR-based examination
2. Document verification

The final merit for these posts will be based on marks obtained in the written or OMR examination. Shortlisted candidates will then be called to verify their original documents.

Written Exam Pattern

The notification confirms that:

• The examination will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• Questions will be provided in English only.
• One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
