The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has released the JKSSB Warder Recruitment 2026 notification for 288 Warder posts. Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:

For Open Merit candidates, the date of birth should generally fall between 1 January 1986 and 1 January 2008.

For candidates belonging to the listed reserved categories, the earliest accepted date of birth is generally 1 January 1983.

Age relaxation for ex-servicemen will be provided according to the applicable government rules.

The JKSSB Warder selection process is expected to include the following main stages:

Candidates will first appear in the written examination.

Based on written-test merit, candidates may be shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test. The number of candidates called for the physical stages may be several times the number of available vacancies.

The Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test are qualifying in nature. Candidates must pass these tests, but the physical-test performance may not add extra marks to the written-test score.

Final appointment will depend on written-test merit, physical-test qualification, document verification, medical fitness and fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.

The notification provides the following basic details about the written examination:

• The examination will contain objective-type questions.
• Questions will be presented in multiple-choice format.
• The question paper will be in English.
• Negative marking will apply.
• One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question may be deducted for an incorrect answer.
• The detailed syllabus will be released separately.

For example, if a question carries one mark, an incorrect answer may result in a deduction of 0.25 marks.

Candidates should avoid random guessing because negative marking can lower their final score.

The detailed syllabus has not been released with the main recruitment notification.

JKSSB is expected to publish the Warder syllabus separately. Until the official syllabus is available, candidates can begin with general subjects commonly included in JKSSB-level examinations.

The Physical Standard Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates who fail to meet the required height, chest or fitness conditions may not be allowed to continue to the next stage.

Candidates who pass the Physical Standard Test will be called for the Physical Endurance Test.

• Wear comfortable running shoes.
• Male candidates should practise correct push-up form.
• Female candidates should practise shot-put technique under proper guidance.
• Drink enough water before and after training.
• Avoid extreme diets or sudden heavy exercise.

Candidates with an injury or medical condition should speak with a qualified healthcare professional before starting demanding physical training.
